Solution Overview:

Open channel radar on-line flow measurement station is composed of radar flow meter, wireless data transmission module and solar power supply module. The radar flow meter collects the real-time water level and the flow velocity of each section, and calculates the real-time flow of the section according to the three-dimensional model. The flow data is sent to the management center through the mobile network by wireless module. Whole system is powered by solar modules.


Installation instructions:

Optimize the allocation of equipments and decide to be bridge installed or pole installed according to the field situation according to the width and the bottom shape of the open channel. Sitting and configuration suggestions are as below:

① Install above the smooth and stable water surface, with no backflow , vortex and no obstacles on the water surface within the measurement range.

② Avoid environments such as outfalls, vertical drops, baffles, river bends, etc.

③ The central axis of the radar flow meter shall be vertical to the water surface.

  

Functions:

① Monitor the water consumption of irrigation area in real time, and conduct reasonable dispatching and optimal allocation of water resources. Ensure the sustainable development of water affairs.            

② Realize real-time online monitoring of the whole water life cycle with the increasing shortage of water resources.

③ Early and real-time alarm of the abnormal water level and volume, effectively inform the customer.

④ Realize the unattended equipment monitoring, and save the Personnel cost.            

⑤ Abnormal value real-time alarm improves emergency response ability and avoids major losses. 


Advantages:

1. Professional flow calculation (hydraulic model)            

The flow of cross section = cross section area * average velocity of cross section.

How to get the ‘average velocity of cross section’ has always been a key point. Therefore, our company has cooperated with Tsinghua University to develop a hydrodynamic model, and improved it with continuous testing.

① Establish a 3D model for a given section            

② Get the relationship between the average velocity of cross section and the surface velocity by gridding calculation.           

③ Draw the k-value curve between the surface velocity and the average velocity of the section (related to the water depth), and then calculate the average velocity of the section.
